A Trip To Blackpool - DJ's & Film Stars | The Power Of Generational Nostalgia And Street Art

A TRIP TO BLACKPOOL

...best gig of the new millennium...

Will Smith & DJ Jazzy Jeff re-united for a one off show on the beach in front of  the iconic Blackpool Tower on a glorious sunny bank holiday weekend.

The previous day I got on bike & had a mooch with my camera, was the most spectacular and awesome sunset: I hadn't seen such in UK for a while

(click on pic to enlarge) quite epic!

I've had nothing but great times over many decades in Blackpool, generational experiences, some particular stag weekend antics have been permanently engraved along with with a smirk in my muscle memory :)

Blackpool is renowned for its vibrant entertainment scene and stag weekends birthdays holidays music events are still an essential part of the town's cultural fabric.

A number of venues offer both mainstream and alternative / horror comedy shows all year-round. The town’s rich tradition in variety entertainment also helps foster a lively family summer season.

Street art in Blackpool has been gaining attention in recent years, with the town's vibrant coastal culture providing a unique backdrop for creative expressions.

The street art scene in Blackpool is still evolving, but it has begun to attract both local and international artists who transform public spaces into visually stimulating art pieces.

One notable aspect of Blackpool’s street art is its connection to the town's rich history and heritage.

Many pieces reflect the local culture, with elements like the famous Blackpool Tower, the promenade, and the seafront taking centre stage in some artworks.

Artists also experiment with themes related to Blackpool’s tourism industry, as the shot bellow across the bay at night shows the town has long been a popular destination for holidaymakers.

The roller coaster on Blackpool’s seafront The Big One, is considered one of the most iconic and thrilling rides in the UK. Big One, which opened in 1994, was once the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world. Standing at 235 feet (71 meters) and reaching speeds of 74 mph (119 km/h), it was ground breaking at the time and remains a major draw for thrill-seekers.

The Scenic Location:

The roller coaster is perched right on the edge of the seafront, with incredible views of the Irish Sea, Blackpool’s famous coastline, The contrast of the high-speed thrill with the picturesque scenery makes for an unforgettable experience.

Sometimes you have to look past the boarded up guesthouses and whatnot....

Blackpool Pleasure Beach has a nostalgic quality that still today can be enjoyed, with its mix of traditional carnival-style attractions and cutting-edge thrill rides. For many visitors, the combination of the old and new offers a sense of timelessness.

People who grew up visiting often return to relive the excitement of their youth, and new generations of thrill-seekers are encouraged  to experience it for the first time.
