2024 Outakes: Bridging The Gaps | Ventures into A.I

Last year I took the plunge into using Artificial Intelligence as a method to execute a few different ideas, its revolutionising the toolbox for creatives by seamlessly bridging the gap between photography, fashion and traditional art, opening what I hope to be new dimensions of expression and innovation.

Pioneering AI-Driven Portraits & Street Art Murals

In the ever-evolving world of photography and digital art Im gradually venturing into AI-generated models and fusion portraiture. With a career rooted in fashion, advertising and urban storytelling, Im using artificial intelligence more and more in every day photography tasks but also to produce some street art-inspired digital murals.

By harnessing AI tools, artists and photographers can now transform digital images and text prompt ideas into breathtaking, paint-free street art that combines the precision of technology with the soul of artistic vision.

This cutting-edge approach allows for rapid creation, eco-friendly execution, and infinite stylistic experimentation—freeing artists from the limitations of physical materials.

Turning a simple photo of Irish musician and singer Phil Lynott or Pakistans legegendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (Qawwali singer) into mural worthy masterpieces is a simple task, reimagining urban spaces with quirky scenarios and characters can also be a fun and wholesome activity.

AI empowers creators to produce stunning, scalable street art that captivates modern audiences while pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling.

From political messages and visions of the apocalypse to oversized prime minister portraits and abstract compositions

Artificial Intelligence is transforming the way we approach fashion and beauty photography too by enabling the creation of hyper-realistic, customizable AI-generated models that redefine industry standards. These models are then adorned with watever your product may be.

With AI, photographers and brands can design the perfect fashion model to drape your scarf or the perfect face and ear to hang your jewellery on... combine this with a multitude of different art styles and it opens up a wealth of creativity.

The shot below used to support the vote to re instate the winter fuel payments for pensioners in the UK — AI models were created and tailored to fit a specific concept, there are no limitations compared to that of traditional casting.

This groundbreaking technology not only reduces production costs but also increases accessibility for smaller brands and independent creatives, eliminating travel expenses, scheduling conflicts, and logistical hurdles.

AI models can be styled, posed, and adjusted with precision, offering unmatched creative control and diversity.

By integrating AI into photography in general, the industry moves toward a more inclusive, efficient, and visually stunning future—one where perfection is programmable and creativity knows no bounds. Sure there will always be a need for live models actually wearing products, catwalk etc but in photography the replacing with AI versions will be saving clients big bucks, in todays business climate that can be a very welcome proposition.

Take for instance these recent jewellery shots... hi res photography of the product combined with the use of A.I. models produces commercially acceptable results at a fraction of the cost it would shooting conventionally.

exorbitant model fees and ridiculous licensing/usage clauses are well gone which is a win / win

AI-generated models offer unlimited creative freedom and consistent results for every shoot. Whether you're a luxury fashion house or an independent jewellery designer, AI solutions make high-quality visual storytelling more accessible, efficient, and future-forward than ever before.

Rather than being apprehensive to AI, lets embrace it as a powerful creative partner— one that expands artistic possibilities, streamlines workflows, and opens new doors in photography fashion, beauty and art that were once unimaginable.
